The RCGP Research Paper of the Year Award - Call for Nominations
The Research Paper of the Year Award is now in its fifteenth year. The award recognises research where the findings make a real difference to general practice. 2012 sees a number of new award categories, designed to highlight the excellent research across primary care.
The new award categories are:

- Dementias and Neurodegenerative Diseases
- Diabetes
- Medicines for Children
- Mental Health
- Stroke

Research Ready
The RCGP in conjunction with the UKCRN have launched the new self-assessment level of PCRTA called 'Research Ready', a low level entry guideline to Primary Care research in England.
Accreditation demonstrates that a practice is able to conduct research with an up to date knowledge of standards required when carrying out research and the extra facilities needed to comply with research.
